We’re taking part in The 2.6 Challenge, are you?

Advocate, like so many charities across the UK, has been hugely impacted by the cancellation of thousands of fundraising events due to COVID-19. In response, the organisers of the biggest mass participation sports events across the country have come together to launch The 2.6 Challenge, a new campaign to save the UK’s charities.

The campaign will launch on Sunday 26 April 2020, on what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one day annual fundraising event which raised £66.4 million for charities in 2019.

So what is The 2.6 Challenge? It’s simple. All you have to do is dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to Advocate’s donation page. Maybe 26 laps of the living room? 26 press-ups? Anything you want! Complete the challenge, nominate friends and get involved.

We need you to select your challenge and donate £2.60 or £26 to Advocate here

When you donate on our Virgin Money Giving fundraising page, we get the chance to access funds from the central 2.6 Challenge fundraising pot. The more you help us raise, the more of that money we receive. That means, whether your donation is £2.60 or £26, you’re actually giving us a lot more.

The 2.6 Challenge is open to anyone of any age – the only requirement is that the activity must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing so remember to stay local. You can also create your own fundraising page if you would like to raise even more funds for access to justice. You can do this here.

We will be sharing your challenges on social media and are keen to hear from you about what you’re doing and why you’ve chosen to support us. Once you’ve taken on a challenge, don’t forget to share what you’ve done with your friends and colleagues so they get involved too.
