St John's School is an independent secondary school and sixth form in Leatherhead, Surrey. 

Role details 

 

Governors have a legal duty to act in the charity’s best interests, manage the charity’s resources responsibly, to act with reasonable care and skill. Other duties include managing conflicts of interest, managing risks, implementing financial controls, and taking appropriate advice (in some cases this is a legal requirement). 

The Governing Council is looking for new governors who can support the board with legal skills and experience. 

Time commitment:  3 Governing Council meetings per year (once a term), plus 2 sub-committee meetings across the year. Invitations to key school events e.g speech day. 

Location: A mixture of remote and on site
