We are a community-based charity founded in 2021 which aims to enable everyone in Harrow who wishes to cycle, to do so. We offer two-wheeler cycle coaching, especially to people of disadvantaged groups; a Wheels for All programme with adapted cycles for disabled people; recycling donated bikes and reselling at low cost; supporting friendly, local rides led by volunteers; advising on all aspects of cycling; signposting to other local groups and resources. We have one part-time staff member managing Wheels for All and 50 volunteers, including trustees.
The Trustee with legal skills will take on the general duties of a trustee, ensuring the charity fulfils its aims and safeguards its resources, bringing their analytical skills to the role. In addition, they will supervise our relationships with legal advisors (A&O Shearman have agreed to act pro bono) and serve on our Development Committee. This is an exciting time for the charity, which is moving from current temporary premises at Harrow Civic Centre to a new site on Kenton Recreation Ground with Harrow Council’s active support. We aim to expand our work and eventually build a new cycling centre, so this is a chance to be in at the beginning of a new phase of operation.
