Deadline: 13 Jul 2026
At location

Organisation Overview

Coram’s Fields and Harmsworth Memorial Playground is a children’s charity that serves as a safe place for all children to come and play.

As well as a seven-acre park and playground situated in Bloomsbury, London we also have an after school and holiday programme and a sports programme for children up to 16 years, a youth centre for 13-19 year olds and an Early Years programme which includes a Nursery and Under 5s Drop In.

Role Details

We're seeking passionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees. You'll provide strategic oversight, support our Executive Team, and ensure we deliver meaningful impact for children and families. Bring your skills and perspective to a charity making a real difference in the community.

Looking ahead, the coming years will be a critical period for Coram’s Fields. We are focused on building long‑term financial resilience, strengthening and expanding our services, and ensuring we can continue to meet the evolving needs of children and young people. Alongside this, we are investing in our historic estate — the majority of which is Grade II listed — balancing preservation with improvements that enhance our offer and ensure our spaces remain safe, inclusive, and inspiring for future generations.

To support these ambitions, we are seeking committed Non‑Executive Directors to join our Board. You will work alongside a dedicated group of Trustees and a passionate executive team, contributing strategic insight, oversight, and ambassadorial support to help guide the charity through its next phase of development.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to be a seasoned Trustee to apply for the role – in fact we welcome applications from those with little or no experience of being a Trustee and particularly welcome those with lived or professional experience of the issues we try to address through our work.

Alongside this, we have also identified certain skills gaps within our Board that we are keen to fill including;
finance, fundraising, legal, marketing and communications, third sector and facilities and estates. This list is though not exhaustive and we welcome applications from people with a range of skills and experience - A commitment and alignment to our values and a desire to contribute to our work is something we are looking for above anything else.

What difference will you make?

Trustees play a vital role in shaping this future - providing strategic oversight and support to the Executive Team.

Coram’s Fields has always been, and remains rooted in the community it serves, and we are seeking Trustees who share our passion and commitment to improving the lives of children, young people and families locally.
