Advocate is a national charity that matches volunteer barristers eager to undertake pro bono work with those who need legal assistance but cannot afford to pay for it and cannot obtain public funding (legal aid).

We are seeking a motivated and organised individual with a strong commitment to social justice who will enjoy building relationships with barristers, clerks, and front-line legal agencies, while managing a busy and varied caseload.

This role is ideal for someone waiting to start pupillage in 2027, but applications are welcome from all suitably qualified candidates.

• Location: London (hybrid working available)
• Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (excluding lunch breaks), Monday to Friday
• Salary: £30,660.53
• Start date: Mid-February 2026
• Closing date: 9am, Friday 5 December 2025 (We reserve the right to close applications early if a suitable candidate is identified, so early applications are encouraged)
• Interviews: Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 December 2025

Our main office is based in London. We offer a hybrid working arrangement for all staff, with the following expectations:

• Those based within 50 miles of London are expected to attend the office at least two days per week.
• Those based within 100 miles of London are expected to attend the office at least one day per week.
