We were thrilled to welcome so many attendees from across the Bar to celebrate the vital role that clerks play in facilitating pro bono work. Their efforts are often behind the scenes, but their contribution to access to justice is both significant and indispensable.
Throughout the morning, we heard from clerks at every stage of their careers who shared their passion for promoting and supporting pro bono. The discussions were lively and insightful, from how pro bono can help barristers broaden their practice or strengthen silk applications, to the creative ways chambers can embed pro bono into their culture.
It was also a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the depth of experience within the clerking profession, and to hear about the many directions a clerking career can take (from chambers management to international conferences in Dubai and Toronto!).
A huge thank you to all who attended - and to clerks in all chambers for the essential role you play in supporting access to justice.

Also, make sure to read our guide to Pro Bono in Chambers: A guide for and by Chambers staff, which details how pro bono work can be supported within chambers, and how chambers professionals can get involved.
