Advocate marks 30 years with an anniversary event to celebrate the past three decades and look ahead to what comes next.

On 1st October, we hosted barristers, chambers professionals, trustees, supporters and friends of Advocate to celebrate our 30th anniversary.

Advocate was founded in 1996 by Lord Goldsmith KC. The anniversary was a chance to bring together the people who have shaped the charity since, and to look at what comes next.

For three decades, legal professionals across England and Wales have given their time and expertise so that thousands of people haven't had to face the legal system alone. It was a pleasure to thank them in person.

We heard from our Chair, Sharif Shivji KC and CEO, Christopher Stacey, reflecting on the achievements of the past three decades, and how we will continue to build on our foundations into the future.

The evening launched The Next Chapter, our three-year strategy, setting out how we will help more applicants through the legal system, help more barristers engage with pro bono, and build a resilient national organisation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening what it was, and to everyone who has supported Advocate over three decades.

None of this work would have happened without you.

Here's to the next 30 years!
