Goldsmith Chambers won Pro Bono Chambers of the Year at the 2020 Bar Pro Bono Awards for successfully nurturing a culture of pro bono in its members. As if to prove the point, five separate members of chambers were nominated for awards in different categories.
Here, they sum up their chambers-wide belief in access to justice and voice support for our 25 for 25 Pro Bono Challenge:
"Chambers has always had a longstanding commitment to taking on pro bono work and seeks to promote access to justice for the most vulnerable people and communities. Members take on pro bono work across all areas of practice, including immigration, public law, family, crime, civil and most recently animal rights work.
Our members are acutely aware of the financial barriers that clients can face, following more than a decade of cuts in public funding. Alongside other pro bono partnerships, Goldsmith Chambers is committed to working closely with Advocate. We wish Advocate every success with their 25th Anniversary Pro Bono Challenge, and trust that it will encourage more counsel across the Bar to step up their commitment to pro bono practice."
