Challenges

Have fun while you fundraise!

Taking part in a challenge for Advocate can be a great way to take on a personal challenge while also raising money to help vulnerable people who need legal assistance.

Have you always wanted to run the London marathon or cycle from London to Paris? Why not do it in support of Advocate? Not only will the funds you raise make a huge difference to our applicants, you will also be raising awareness of our vision of making access to justice for all a reality.

Here are some current challenges you can get involved with:

London Marathon

This year Advocate has a place in the London Marathon. James Keeley of The 36 Group will be running on the 26th April 2020 and you can sponsor him here. We also have two runners who are taking on the London Marathon and splitting their fundraising between us and our friends at the Free Representation Unit. Find out more about them all and why they’re taking on this challenge here.

The London Landmarks Half Marathon

Advocate has 15 runners taking on the 2020 London Landmarks Half Marathon on 29th March 2020! All of these places have been filled and you can read about all the amazing runners here.

Royal Parks Half Marathon

There’s still an opportunity to run for access to justice if you haven’t had the chance already. We’ve got FIVE places in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 11th October 2020.

Legal Wheel Appeal

In July 2020 we’ll be sending our very own Team Advocate off on a 186 mile cycling trip to remember from London to Paris – and you can join!

The registration fee is £125, with a fundraising target of £1,500. If you sign up in February when Advocate is Classic Challenge’s Charity of the Month, you can get 25% off the registration fee! Click here to read more. If you want to get involved, email Sarah.

“It was an extraordinary adventure, though a tough test of my lack of fitness. The cycle through southern England to Newhaven on the first day was lovely, as was the ride from Dieppe into the heart of Normandy.

The last day, into Paris, was very tough thanks to a full-scale gale in our faces. But it was all worthwhile. The feeling of achievement when we arrived at the Eiffel Tower at the end of the 186 miles, and of having raised so much money for Advocate, was amazing”

- Paul Infield, The 36 Group, cyclist for The Legal Wheel Appeal 2018

Fancy taking on your very own challenge for Advocate?

In 2019 Derek Sweeting QC took part in an 85 mile trek around the Isle of Man in just 24 hours to raise funds for access to justice, and James Harrison completed the Vichy Ironman for Advocate and Middle Temple charities. What would be your personal challenge?

Let us know what you want to do, and get in touch so we can help you raise funds and make some noise!
