Citizens Advice Peterborough [CAP] is an independent charity and a member of national Citizens Advice, a network of 360 individual federated charities operating under the Citizens Advice brand; CAP has fully adopted the aims, principles and values of that organisation. These are:

Role Details
Time Commitment: 3-7 hours / week or 7-15 hours / week
Attendance: At least 1 full day or 2 half days Monday-Friday with some flexibility - can be fully remote with occasional in person meet ups

Role Description

  • Finding, interpreting and communicating the relevant information and exploring options/implications so that the client can come to a decision
  • Acting, where necessary on behalf of clients, negotiating, drafting or writing letters, making 3-way calls or making appropriate referrals
  • Completing clear and accurate case records
  • Recognising the rot cause of problems and thinking of the whole picture - not just the presenting issue.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Commucation skills
  • Basic IT skills to be able to complete casenotes
  • Advice/legal experience
