We are a local charity offering high-quality housing and support to enhance the lives of homeless and vulnerable people, We have more than 50 years’ experience of supporting people to transform their lives.

We provide housing and related support services to clients to empower them to manage the issues they are facing, gain new skills, and increase their confidence. We provide our services in a trauma informed way and tailor this to each individual person’s needs. We do this to enable them to improve their lives and live more independently.

Role Details

Time requirements: The Board meets five times a year, on Thursday evenings, either via Microsoft Teams or at Bradmere House in Leatherhead. Trustees serve on one or two of the Committees and they each meet approximately four times a year. Additional meetings are arranged occasionally. Trustees also participate in learning and development events offered by Transform, the National Housing Federation or other agencies. This is a great way to keep up to date with best housing practice. We provide supported housing, housing related support and temporary accommodation.

Attendance: Meetings are usually at our office in Leatherhead but some remote attendance is possible.

Role Description

Trustees work with the Chief Executive and his leadership team to provide direction and help us achieve our goals.

As our Trustee, you will be able to rapidly get up to speed on the needs of Transform clients and understand how we can best provide support to them against the current strategic and regulatory backdrop.

Required Skills and Experience

We are looking for skills and practical experience in law, governance and compliance.

Someone who is:

- Confident in expressing your views and making reasoned, well thought-through decisionsbased on their specialist knowledge.

- Able to think long-term and strategically, absorbing information quickly and providing creative, effective input and direction.

- Able to be the ultimate team player able to build relationships with Trustees, the Executive and all Transform stakeholders.

- Diplomatic, enthusiastic and able to persuade, facilitate and build consensus among diverse individuals.
