Organisation Overview

Featherstone Academy is a Good secondary school serving students and their families in Featherstone. We look to increase the life chances and opportunities of the students in the local community. The school also has a specialist provision for autistic children who are able to join some of the mainstream curriculum with peers of their own age. The school has a strong focus on resilience, growth mindset and positive discipline supported by a differentiated curriculum.

Role Details

Attendance: Hybrid. 

Time commitment: 5 meetings per year together with monitoring visits and some attendance on student disciplinary/parental complaints panels.

Role Description

Oversight, Challenge and support for the Academy including its improvement plan, targets, attainment, and community and stakeholder engagement together with compliance with statutory requirements. LRB’s consider the implementation of Trust strategy, the academy’s risk register, academy standards and the quality of provision, together with staffing.
