Citizens Advice Wirral is a dynamic Wirral charity dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through advice, guidance, and social prescribing. Their work is built on the belief that everyone deserves access to the support they need to navigate practical challenges they face and improve their health and wellbeing.
Trustees play a vital role in helping Citizens Advice Wirral to remain a strong, effective, and forward-thinking organisation, ensuring they can deliver high-quality, accessible advice to those who need it most.
This voluntary role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in your community while developing your skills and experience in governance and leadership. Our Board of Trustees is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring sound governance, and overseeing financial and operational performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Actively contributing to setting policy and strategic direction, setting targets and evaluating performance.
- Actively seeking to further the strategic objectives of Citizens Advice Wirral and acting in the best interests of the organisation at all times.
- Monitoring whether the service complies with its governing document, whether it meets Citizens Advice standards, and how well the advice needs of the local community are being met.
- Overseeing the organisation's finances to ensure it stays within budget and meets its objectives, while maintaining clear accountability for daily financial management.
- Supporting the development of the organisation through participation in agreed projects.
Time commitment: 10 hours a month, including quarterly in person meetings (weekday evenings), for a term of 3 years.
