Transforming dogs’ lives since 1961, Jerry Green Dog Rescue provides expert care, shelter, and loving homes for abandoned dogs, always putting their welfare first and striving for the highest rescue standards.

Role Details

Time commitment: Approximately one day per month.

Attendance: Hybrid - five meetings per year with one in person.

Role Description

- Helping to shape the strategic direction of the charity.

- Providing guidance and oversight including in your area of expertise.

 - Ensuring the charity operates in line with its mission, values, and legal responsibilities.

- Supporting and challenging the executive team to drive continuous improvement.

- Attending Board meetings (hybrid, with one in-person meeting per year).

Required Skills and Experience

We are seeking a qualified lawyer or solicitor to join our Board of Trustees and provide vital legal expertise. As a growing charity with land assets, retail operations, fundraising activities, and regulatory responsibilities, we must navigate a complex legal landscape. A legal expert on our Board will help ensure we remain compliant with charity and property law, mitigate risk, and make informed strategic decisions. Whether advising on contracts, governance, or regulatory matters, your guidance will help safeguard our mission and allow us to focus on what matters most, providing the highest standard of care for dogs in need.
