The Big Give – Legal Compass: Navigating the maze of justice

We are taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s biggest matched-funding campaign. The campaign kicks off TODAY, Tuesday 29th November, and runs for a week. All donations made during this time will be DOUBLED! One donation, twice the impact.

This year, we have set ourselves an ambitious target to raise £15,000 to hire a volunteer coordinator.

Drowning in court orders, applications, and complex legal terms, those facing the legal system alone face strains on their physical and mental health. This has only been exacerbated by the cost-of-living crisis.

We want to improve support for vulnerable people struggling with life-changing cases on their own. We are trying to raise £15,000 to fund a volunteer coordinator to recruit and train a new cohort of volunteers to improve our service. The programme will train volunteers to provide emotional and practical support to vulnerable people using our services, enabling barristers to focus on the legal issues.

The matched funds come from two sources – some pledges we secured over the summer and a contribution from the Human Rights Fund.
