What is Volunteers’ Week?

Volunteers’ Week takes place 1-7 June every year. It's a chance to recognise the fantastic contribution volunteers make to our communities.

It is a time to say thanks. During an exceptionally difficult couple of years, people from all walks of life around the UK have taken the time to volunteer and make a huge difference to their communities, including the justice system. This is a time for us to thank all volunteers for their invaluable contribution.

Why does Advocate get involved?

Volunteers are key to everything we do. We simply could not operate without them.

We have many different types of volunteers at Advocate:

• Volunteer barristers - who sign up as panel members to take on cases.
• Volunteer mentors - mentoring the next generation of the Bar.
• Casework volunteers - who work on casework programmes throughout the year, with opportunities to get great hands-on experience assisting applicants with their legal problems.
